A Little Bit About Me
I'm extremely liberal, and believe everyone should have the freedom to be who they are. I'm opinionated and love dialog. Islam is new to me, but I'm loving it!

I'm also starting to do Salat - it's been a little confusing for me but I think I have things worked out.

I'm learning Arabic right now, so please bear with me. I want to be fluent in it, but it will come in time. I really wish to read the Holy Qur'an in Arabic!

What I Am Looking For
Someone who shares similar political beliefs and values, who won't infringe on my independence. I want someone who I can talk to and trust, but won't expect me to do all the housework.

1. Even if I do not like abortion, I believe women should have access to legal abortion. I believe contraception is a good way to plan a family.

2. . They should be able to live freely, without discrimination. They should be able to have the full benefits of marriage, even if this does not agree with my personal feelings about gays.

3. I cannot force a person to be more religious. I cannot judge others. If something bothers me about how another practices their religion, I need to remind myself that this is between them and God, and not me, them and God. This person (of sound mind) is able to make their own decisions.

4. I believe in freedom of speech, even if I hate what the other person is saying and believe it to be blasphemous. I may not like that people can mock the Prophet (pbuh), but it is their right to do so. I can only set a good example of what a Muslim can be and hope they change their minds.

5. I do not proselytize.

6. A woman can lead prayer. This is not in contradiction with Islamic doctrine, even if it may contradict some scholars. Scholars are merely human, and can make mistakes.

7. If a woman cannot or will not give birth to a child, it is okay. We will adopt.
